Pen Goodale joined OVP Venture Partners in 2001 as Director of Research. Her role includes researching market trends & competitive threats, performing market & customer segmentation analyses, and forecasting the total market opportunity for start-ups. She does due diligence analyses for potential investments and provides research support for OVP portfolio firms.

Prior to joining OVP, Pen was the Research Consultant for The Ascent Group from 1996 to 2001. She also served as a consultant and was on the advisory board for five High Tech startups as part of the Oregon Marketing Business Initiative (OMBI) program from 1996 through 1999. Before her years of consulting, Pen was the Senior Business Analyst at Now Software and held several financial positions at Mentor Graphics Corporation, including Assistant to the CFO and Investor Relations Manager.

Pen received her BA, Social Anthropology from Harvard University and her MA in Education from Lesley College. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, gardening, cooking & ballroom dancing.
